Increasing public support for sustainability and firmly anchoring sustainability in education and research

In order to develop sustainably we not only need to invest in finding and implementing sustainable solutions but we also require public acceptance of the solutions and enthusiasm for sustainability. An important instrument for this is firmly anchoring sustainability in the education of our young people. This increases insight and knowledge and enables citizens and professionals to make responsible choices. Making sustainability an integral part of the education system and a guiding principle for education and research increases the potential for us to structurally support the city’s complex strategic tasks through research and the acquisition of knowledge.
